DIAGNOSIS The machine's priming sequence was interrupted or failed. The ECAM29043SB requires a successful initial prime of the hydraulic system before first use or after a long period of disuse.
FIX Perform a manual prime. Turn the machine on. Place an empty container under the coffee outlet and hot water spout. Simultaneously press and hold the Espresso and Americano buttons for 5 seconds. Release. The machine will run water through both outlets for about 60 seconds. The message should clear.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Check the internal tank sensor. Ensure the water tank is correctly seated and the magnetic float inside moves freely. A stuck float can falsely signal an empty tank, blocking the prime.
HEADS UP This sequence must complete without interruption. Do not turn the machine off during the 60-second water flow.
