Diagnosis
Yeah, this one's common. F5 E1 is a drain error—the washer thinks it can't pump out water, usually due to a blockage or a slow drain.
How to Fix It
First, unplug the machine. Check the drain hose at the back for kinks or clogs, and make sure it's not pushed too far into your standpipe (should only be about 6 inches in). Then, locate the pump filter cover at the bottom front, open it with a flat tool, have a towel ready for water, and clean out any debris. Plug back in and run a drain/spin cycle to test.
If That Didn't Work
The drain pump itself might be failing. You can listen for a humming sound near the filter area during a drain cycle; if it's silent or weak, the pump likely needs replacement.
Heads Up
That filter needs cleaning every few months, especially if you wash pet hair or lint-heavy loads. Ignoring it can trip the error repeatedly.
