my netgear orbi rbk752 satellite won't sync, the light is solid magenta, what do i do?

— asked by Mark

The solid magenta LED on the satellite indicates a sync failure with the router.

  1. Power cycle the satellite. Unplug it, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in.
  2. Press the Sync button on the router, then within two minutes, press the Sync button on the satellite. The satellite LED should blink blue while syncing, then turn solid white.
  3. Ensure the satellite is placed within the router's range, away from major obstructions and interference sources like microwaves or cordless phone bases.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: The satellite might be too far from the router. Move it closer and try the sync process again. If it still fails, perform a factory reset on the satellite using the recessed Reset button on the back. Hold it for at least 10 seconds with a paperclip until the LED flashes amber.

HEADS UP: A solid magenta light can also mean the satellite is not getting power. Check that the power connector is fully seated and the outlet is working.
