A dark Internet port LED on the Orbi router means no active Ethernet link to your modem.
FIX:
- Check the Ethernet cable. Ensure it's firmly plugged into the Orbi's Internet port and the Ethernet port on your modem.
- Try a different Ethernet cable.
- Power cycle both devices. Unplug the modem and Orbi router from power. Wait 30 seconds. Plug the modem in first and wait for all its lights to stabilize (usually 1-2 minutes). Then plug the Orbi router back in.
- Verify the modem is online and receiving signal from your ISP.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK:
- The modem may need to be provisioned or reset by your Internet Service Provider. Contact them.
- If you have Internet Port Aggregation enabled (using both the Internet port and Ethernet Port 1), disable it temporarily to test the primary Internet port alone.
HEADS UP: The Internet port LED should light up when a proper physical connection is established. If it remains off after all checks, the router's port or the modem's port may be faulty.
