my new echo hub just shows the amazon logo and spins forever, it's been like this for an hour after plugging it in.

DIAGNOSIS This is a failed initial setup boot loop. The device can't connect to the internet or complete its first-time configuration, so it just restarts the process over and over.

FIX Unplug the power adapter from the wall, not just the hub. Wait a full 60 seconds. Plug it back in. As soon as the logo appears, press and hold the volume down button and the mic off button together for about 15 seconds until the screen changes. This forces a factory reset. You'll see a language selection screen when it's ready. Go through setup again, but make sure your phone's Bluetooth is on and you're connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network (it doesn't support 5GHz-only setups).

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The power adapter might be the culprit. This thing needs a stable 15W. Try a different USB-C cable and a known-good, high-quality power brick that supports at least 15W output. The one that came with it is best, but if you're using a third-party one, it might not be delivering consistent power.

HEADS UP During setup, keep your phone and the Hub close together. The Hub uses your phone's Bluetooth to grab your Wi-Fi credentials, and if they're too far apart, this handshake fails silently, leading right back to the spinning logo.
