Weak coffee is usually a brew style or measurement issue. Here's the fastest fix.
- Immediate fix: Select the Rich brew style. This extracts more flavor. For an even bolder cup, add more coffee grounds to the filter.
- Check your grind: Ensure you're using a medium-grind coffee. Finely ground coffee can clog the basket and lead to poor extraction.
- Verify the mode: Make sure the Hot Water Dial is turned completely to the coffee bean icon for brewing coffee, not the water droplet.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: If it's still weak on the Rich setting, you might be under-measuring for the carafe size. Use the Ninja Smart Scoop and consult the Coffee Measurement Chart. For a full carafe on Rich, you need more grounds than for a Classic brew of the same size.
HEADS UP: Decaf coffee grounds absorb water differently. If you're brewing decaf, use fewer scoops than the chart recommends for regular coffee to avoid overpacking the filter, which can also cause weak, under-extracted coffee.
