This failure typically happens for one of three reasons: the lid is not fully rotated into the locked position, food debris is preventing the lid from seating flush against the pitcher rim, or the internal magnet in the lid handle has shifted or become demagnetized. You can confirm it is a sensor issue if the message persists even when you apply downward pressure on the lid, as this indicates a misalignment rather than a mechanical blockage.
How to Fix It
To clear the "LID" error and engage the motor, follow this precise sequence to ensure the magnetic sensor is triggered:
- Power down the unit and unplug it from the wall outlet to reset the control board.
- Inspect the rim of the blender pitcher and the underside of the lid for any dried food particles, seeds, or residue. Even a small piece of debris can prevent the lid from sitting low enough to trigger the sensor. Wipe both surfaces with a damp microfiber cloth.
- Place the lid onto the pitcher. Ensure the lid is sitting flat and not tilted to one side.
- Grip the lid handle firmly and rotate it clockwise. You must continue rotating until you hear a distinct, audible "click."

If That Didn't Work

- Clean the Base Contact Area: While the sensor is internal, heavy vibrations can sometimes shift the internal components. Gently tap the top of the base (where the pitcher sits) with the palm of your hand to ensure no internal debris is interfering with the reed switch.
