my nutribullet smoothie came out super chunky and the motor sounded strained, what did i do wrong?

Diagnosis

The blender motor straining and producing a chunky smoothie indicates the blade assembly couldn't create a proper vortex. This is almost always caused by incorrect liquid content or improper assembly. Without enough liquid, ingredients can't circulate, overloading the motor and leaving chunks. How to Fix It

1. Always add your liquid ingredients (water, milk, juice) to the cup first, before any solid ingredients like fruit or ice. This ensures the blades can immediately create a vortex.
2. Do not fill ingredients past the MAX line on the cup. Overfilling prevents proper circulation.
3. Assemble correctly: Place cup on the power base. Add your ingredients. Screw the extractor blade assembly onto the cup by turning it clockwise until it is firmly hand-tight. You should feel definite resistance; it must be very tight to form a seal.
4. Pulse briefly first to draw ingredients down, then hold the cup down firmly for a continuous 20-30 second blend until smooth.

If That Didn't Work

If the problem persists, check for a damaged blade or gasket. Inspect the black rubber ring (gasket) inside the blade assembly for cracks or tears, which break the seal. Ensure the blade spins freely by hand and isn't dull or bent. Try blending a simple, soft test (like just liquid and a banana) to rule out overly hard ingredients (like whole ice cubes or nuts) that the Personal model may struggle with.
