my orbi satellite keeps disconnecting from the router, the ring light turns amber. how do i fix the sync?

Yeah, this one's common. The amber light means the satellite lost its connection to the router.

The fix is to re-sync them manually. Here's how:

  1. First, check the router's Power LED. Make sure it's lit solid white. If not, you have a power issue.
  2. On the back of the router, find the small, recessed Sync button. It's near the Ethernet ports.
  3. Press and hold the router's Sync button for about 5 seconds.
  4. Within two minutes, go to the satellite and press its Sync button (also on the back) for 5 seconds.
  5. Wait. The satellite LED should pulse white, then turn solid white when synced.

If that didn't work, try moving the satellite closer to the router during the sync process, then move it back.

If the light stays amber or turns magenta, you need to power cycle both units: unplug them, wait 30 seconds, plug the router in first, wait 2 minutes, then plug the satellite in.
