Diagnosis
The cE error is a communication failure between the main control board and the user interface board. It's a common failure point on this model.
How to Fix It
Unplug the dishwasher from the wall outlet for 5 full minutes. This resets the control boards. Plug it back in. If cE is gone, run a test cycle. If cE returns immediately, the user interface board is likely faulty and needs replacement.
If That Didn't Work
The wiring harness connecting the two boards can have a loose connection. You'll need to remove the lower kick plate and the inner door panel to check the harness plugs. Reseat them firmly.
Heads Up
Do not ignore a persistent cE error. The dishwasher will not function and may eventually fail to power on at all. Replacement of the user interface board is the most common fix.
