Diagnosis
The SUPVAN T50M Pro utilizes Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to maintain a connection between the mobile app and the printer hardware. Frequent disconnections usually stem from the operating system's aggressive power management settings, which "kill" the background process of the app to save battery, effectively severing the handshake between the device and the printer. If the app is not set to run without restrictions, the OS will terminate the Bluetooth link the moment you switch to another screen or the phone locks. Another common culprit is a "Bluetooth Cache" conflict. Over time, the stored pairing data for the T50M Pro can become corrupted, causing the device to oscillate between connected and disconnected states. This is often exacerbated by signal interference from 2.4GHz Wi-Fi routers or other nearby BLE devices, which can drown out the T50M Pro's relatively weak transmitter. You can confirm this is a software/power issue if the printer stays connected while the app is open and active on the screen, but drops the moment you navigate away.
How to Fix It
- Optimize Battery Settings: Navigate to your phone's Settings > Apps > App Management > SUPVAN App. Select Battery and change the setting from "Optimized" to "Unrestricted." This prevents the Android or iOS system from killing the Bluetooth process in the background.
- Enable Precise Location: Go to Settings > Privacy > Permission Manager > Location. Find the SUPVAN app and ensure "Allow all the time" is selected and the "Use precise location" toggle is switched ON. BLE scanning requires location data to identify the hardware ID of the T50M Pro.
- Perform a Hard Hardware Reset: Turn the T50M Pro off. Remove the label tape roll and the batteries (or unplug the USB power). Wait 30 seconds. Reinsert the tape and power source. This clears the printer's temporary volatile memory.
- Clear Bluetooth Cache: On Android, go to Settings > Apps > See all apps > Bluetooth (you may need to enable "Show system processes"). Select Storage & Cache and tap "Clear Cache." Restart your phone.
- Fresh Pairing Sequence: Delete the T50M Pro from your phone's Bluetooth paired devices list. Open the SUPVAN app first, then put the printer in pairing mode. Connect through the app's internal interface rather than the phone's system Bluetooth menu.
If That Didn't Work
- Update Firmware via App: Check the "Device" or "Settings" tab within the SUPVAN app for a firmware update notification. Outdated firmware on the T50M Pro can cause instability with newer versions of Android 13/14 or iOS 17. Update the firmware while the printer is plugged into a wall outlet to avoid power loss during the flash.
- Test with a Different Power Source: If you are using batteries, replace them with high-capacity alkaline cells. Low voltage in the battery compartment can cause the Bluetooth chip to brown out, leading to intermittent signal drops even if the printer still appears to have power.
- Isolate Signal Interference: Move the printer at least 5 feet away from your Wi-Fi router or microwave. If you are using a metal desk or have the printer placed inside a metal drawer, the Faraday effect will weaken the BLE signal significantly.
- Reset Network Settings: Perform a "Reset Network Settings" on your mobile device. This wipes all saved Wi-Fi passwords and Bluetooth pairings, removing any deep-seated software conflicts that are preventing a stable handshake with the T50M Pro.
Heads Up
- Avoid Multiple Pairings: The T50M Pro is designed for a one-to-one connection. Do not attempt to pair the printer with two different phones simultaneously; this will cause the printer to constantly drop the connection as it tries to switch between masters.
- Tape Alignment: Ensure the label tape is seated perfectly flush against the rollers. While not directly related to Bluetooth, a jammed tape can cause the printer to send an error signal back to the app, which some users mistake for a disconnection.
- App Version: Always ensure you are using the official app from the App Store or Play Store. Third-party "label helper" apps often lack the specific BLE drivers needed for the T50M Pro's stability.
- Power Cycle Regularly: If you leave the printer on for several days without use, the Bluetooth stack can hang. Power the device off and on once a week to refresh the internal wireless module.
