DIAGNOSIS The machine is detecting a problem with the capsule recognition system or the brew head mechanism. The three orange flashes with three beeps is the Nespresso error code for a capsule reading failure.
FIX First, power off the machine and unplug it for 60 seconds. Open and close the brew head to reset the mechanism. Plug it back in. Insert a new, undamaged capsule and try to brew. If it works, the original capsule was likely faulty or inserted incorrectly.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The optical barcode reader inside the brew head may be dirty. Power off and unplug. Use a dry microfiber cloth to gently wipe the black plastic dome and the silver needle inside the empty brew chamber. Do not use liquids. Try again with a new capsule.
HEADS UP Never use third-party or refilled capsules. The barcode system is proprietary. Using non-Nespresso capsules is the most common trigger for this error and can void your warranty.
