Quick answer: The camera is stuck in setup mode or can't find your Wi-Fi network. The solid yellow blinking is the tell—it's searching but not locking on.

Diagnosis

The camera is stuck in setup mode or can't find your Wi-Fi network. The solid yellow blinking is the tell—it's searching but not locking on.

How to Fix It

First, make sure your phone's Bluetooth is on and you're close to the camera. In the Wyze app, delete the camera from your device list. Hold the camera's setup button for 10+ seconds until the status light goes solid blue, then flashes yellow-blue. That's a full factory reset. Now try adding it as a new device again. During setup, ensure you're selecting the 2.4GHz band of your Wi-Fi network (it doesn't connect to 5GHz).

If That Didn't Work

The OG model can be picky with certain router security settings. Temporarily try setting your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi to WPA2-Personal (AES) encryption only, not a mixed mode like WPA/WPA2 or WPA3. Once it connects, you can usually switch back.

Heads Up

If you're using a mesh network or an ISP's combo router, sometimes putting the camera too close to a satellite node or the main router causes interference. Try the setup process with the camera in its final intended location, not right next to the router.
