DIAGNOSIS The printer is in a fatal error state, almost always caused by a paper jam or a carriage obstruction. The simultaneous blinking is its panic signal.
FIX
- Turn the printer OFF at the power switch and unplug it for 60 seconds.
- Open the rear cover and the scanner unit. Physically remove any crumpled paper, scraps, or bits of label from the entire paper path. Use a flashlight.
- Check the print head carriage area for any obstruction (a fallen paperclip, a jammed ink cartridge). Gently move the carriage by hand to ensure it glides freely.
- Plug the printer back in, turn it on, and let it complete its full initialization cycle.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The ink pad counter (waste ink absorber) may have reached its limit, triggering a service-required lockout. You'll need a reset utility, which is third-party software, to clear it.
HEADS UP When clearing jams, always pull paper in the direction of paper travel, never straight up or back, to avoid tearing it and leaving fragments.
