replaced the filter with a new official one and now the unit just beeps three times and won’t start

DIAGNOSIS The three-beep error means the unit doesn't recognize the new filter as authentic, or the filter's NFC chip isn't making contact. It's a DRM check failure.

FIX Double-check the installation. Open the door, remove the new filter, and look at the gold-colored contact pads on its right side. Now look inside the unit at the right-hand wall—you should see small, spring-loaded metal pins. The filter's pads must align and press against these pins. Re-insert the filter, applying firm, even pressure at the top and bottom until you hear/feel a solid click into place. Close the door. The beeping should stop after a successful read.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The filter might be defective out of the box, or the pins inside your unit are bent or dirty. With the unit unplugged, inspect the internal pins with a flashlight. If they look bent or recessed, that's a hardware fault. If they look okay, try gently cleaning them with a dry cotton swab. If you have the old filter, put it back in as a test. If the old one works, the new filter is likely the problem.

HEADS UP Always register a new filter with Molekule when you buy it. If it's a dud, you'll need the receipt and registration for a warranty claim. Don't remove the plastic wrap from a new filter until you're ready to install it, and handle it by the edges to avoid touching the gold contacts with your fingers.
