DIAGNOSIS The printer's wireless setup process is finicky and often fails if your router uses both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks with the same name (SSID). The printer only works on 2.4GHz.
FIX Connect via USB cable first to install the full software, then configure Wi-Fi.
- Connect the printer to your computer with the supplied USB cable.
- Run the installation software from the Epson website. It will detect the printer.
- During setup, choose "Wireless Connection" when prompted. The software will push the network settings to the printer via the temporary USB link. Follow the on-screen prompts.
- Once the Wi-Fi light on the printer is solid, you can remove the USB cable.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Temporarily split your Wi-Fi bands: rename your router's 2.4GHz network to something unique (e.g., "HomeNetwork_2G"). Connect the printer directly to that network using the WPS button method (hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer for 3 seconds, then press your router's WPS button within 2 minutes).
HEADS UP The printer must be relatively close to the router during setup. Thick walls or distance will cause the setup to time out and fail.
