Diagnosis
You've tripped the internal thermal protector. Crushing ice is a high-load task that generates a lot of heat in the motor. The safety switch cuts power to prevent burnout.
How to Fix It
Unplug the blender base completely and let it sit for at least 45 minutes to an hour to cool down. This resets the thermal cutoff. While it's cooling, check that the pitcher isn't overfilled with ice—for hard tasks, don't go above the 6-cup line.
If That Didn't Work
After a full cool-down, if it's still completely dead when plugged in, check your wall outlet with another device. If the outlet is good, the thermal cutoff may have failed in the open position, which is a motor/base issue requiring service.
Heads Up
For ice, always use the 'Crush Ice' program or the Pulse function in short bursts, not a continuous high speed. Letting the motor cool between pulses prevents this from happening again.
