the camera lens on my dxr-8 pro looks foggy or blurry, i've wiped it but it's still not clear

Quick answer: You're not wiping the actual lens. There's a clear, removable lens cover in front of the camera sensor that gets hazy from fingerprints and dust.

Diagnosis

You're not wiping the actual lens. There's a clear, removable lens cover in front of the camera sensor that gets hazy from fingerprints and dust.

How to Fix It

Gently pinch the sides of the camera's front panel. Pull straight forward, and the entire lens cover will snap off. Wash it with warm water and a drop of dish soap, dry it thoroughly with a microfiber cloth (like for glasses), and snap it back onto the camera. The difference will be immediate.

If That Didn't Work

While the cover is off, use a dry cotton swab to very gently clean the small, recessed camera sensor lens inside. There's almost no chance it's dirty, but it's worth a check.

Heads Up

Don't use alcohol or harsh cleaners on the plastic lens cover—it can cloud the plastic. And never try to disassemble the actual camera body behind the cover.
