Diagnosis
The camera lens has a delicate optical coating. Using household cleaners, paper towels, or shirt fabric will create micro-scratches. This permanently degrades image clarity.
How to Fix It
Use a dedicated camera lens cleaning kit. First, use a blower bulb to remove dust particles. Then apply lens cleaning fluid specifically for optics to a microfiber cloth. Never spray fluid directly on the lens. Gently wipe the lens in a circular motion from the center outward. Use a dry part of the cloth to remove any streaks.
If That Didn't Work
For stubborn smudges, breathing lightly on the lens to fog it provides a mild solvent (water vapor). Immediately wipe gently with a clean, dry microfiber cloth.
Heads Up
The camera housing is not waterproof. Ensure no cleaning fluid seeps into the seams around the lens or the reset button. Always unplug the camera before cleaning.
