Diagnosis
The internal battery or its management circuit is failing. It cannot hold the designed 16-hour charge capacity.
How to Fix It
Initiate a full battery recalibration. Drain the sock completely until it powers off. Place it on the charging dock until the indicator shows a solid green light. Leave it charging for an additional 3 hours after the solid green appears. Power it on. Use it for a full cycle. Repeat this full drain/charge cycle two more times.
If That Didn't Work
The issue is likely a persistent firmware bug affecting battery reporting. Connect the sock to the charger. Open the Owlet app, go to Device Settings, and check for firmware updates. Update if available. If already current, initiate a soft reset: press and hold the sock's power button for 30 seconds while on the charger.
Heads Up
Using third-party USB-C cables or chargers can damage the battery management system. Use only the provided white magnetic charging cable and dock. Continuous rapid drain paired with a hot housing indicates a battery safety failure—contact Owlet support immediately.
