Diagnosis
A solid red light on the camera means it's powered on but is not connected to your home's WiFi network. It can't be accessed via the app, and the parent unit might only connect to it directly (with limited range).
How to Fix It
You need to reconnect the camera to your WiFi. The easiest way is through the VTech Home app on your phone. 1) Make sure your phone is on your 2.4GHz home network. 2) In the app, go to add a device and select your camera model. 3) It will prompt you to press and hold the camera's sync/pairing button (usually on the bottom) for 5 seconds until the light flashes blue. 4) Follow the in-app instructions to enter your WiFi password. The light should turn solid blue when successfully connected.
If That Didn't Work
Your router might be blocking the connection. Temporarily disable any 'AP Isolation', 'Client Isolation', or 'VPN' settings on your router. Also, ensure you're using a simple WiFi password without special characters like &, %, or $. Sometimes routers with WPA3 security can cause issues—try setting it to WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode.
Heads Up
The camera only works on 2.4GHz WiFi networks. It will not see or connect to a 5GHz network. Many modern routers broadcast both under one name; you may need to temporarily split them into separate SSIDs (names) to ensure your phone and the camera are both on the 2.4GHz band during setup.
