DIAGNOSIS The control board is receiving erratic power, usually from a loose main wiring harness or a failing thermal fuse.
FIX Unplug the unit. Wait 60 seconds. Plug it back in firmly. Often, a poor connection at the wall outlet or a brief power glitch causes this. If the blinking stops and the clock displays a steady time, it was a temporary fault.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The thermal fuse on the heating element may be intermittently failing. This requires disassembly to test with a multimeter. There is no user reset for this fuse; it must be replaced if blown.
HEADS UP Do not ignore persistent blinking. It's a sign of an electrical fault. Continued use in this state can damage the control board permanently.
