the desk goes up but then immediately goes back down a little bit on its own when i stop.

Quick answer: DIAGNOSIS: This is called "drift" and it's typically the control system's way of compensating for load. It senses the motor current and adjusts slightly to find a stable holding position.

FIX: First, try a simple recalibration. 1) Lower the desk all the way down until it stops. 2) Press and hold the down button for about 5 seconds after it stops. You might see the display flash. This resets the lower limit. 3) Raise it all the way up and do the same—press and hold the up button for 5 seconds after it stops to reset the upper limit. This often recalibrates the position sensing.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: The weight on the desk might be uneven or near the maximum capacity, causing one motor to work harder. Try redistributing the load. If the drift is significant (more than an inch), there might be an issue with the control logic. Contact Uplift support.

HEADS UP: A tiny amount of settling (like a quarter-inch) after stopping is normal, especially with a heavy load. It's the desk finding its mechanical hold point. Large or repeated drops are not normal.
