Diagnosis
A jet-engine-like noise on the highest fan setting typically indicates an imbalance in the ventilation system. The most common culprits in your Samsung ME19R7041FS are a loose or grease-caked centrifugal blower wheel (located behind the grease filter) or a misaligned/malfunctioning exterior vent damper that vibrates violently under high airflow.
How to Fix It
- Unplug the microwave or turn off the circuit breaker for safety.
- Remove the grease filter(s) by pulling the release tab(s) downward.
- Visually inspect the large plastic blower wheel. Manually rotate it to check for heavy, uneven grease buildup or any visible wobble.
- Thoroughly clean the blower wheel and its housing with a kitchen degreaser, removing all caked-on debris. Ensure it spins freely and quietly by hand.
- Push firmly on the center of the blower wheel to confirm it is fully seated on the motor shaft and not loose.
- Reinstall the grease filters and restore power to test the fan noise.
If That Didn't Work
The issue is likely external. Check the ductwork and exterior wall cap. Ensure the duct is straight and secure, not kinked or collapsed. Go outside and inspect the vent cover's damper flaps; they should move freely. If a flap is stuck partially open or is loose, it can buzz or rattle violently on high speed. Clean any debris obstructing the damper and tighten any loose screws on the vent cover. If the duct is excessively long or has multiple bends, the high-speed fan may simply be straining, which can also increase noise.

Always disconnect power before servicing. The blower wheel is plastic; never use excessive force to remove it, as the shaft or wheel can break. If cleaning and securing components doesn't resolve the noise, the motor bearings themselves may be failing, which requires professional repair.
