the full basket light is on but there's barely any ice in there. it keeps stopping.

DIAGNOSIS The infrared sensor that detects the ice level is either dirty or blocked. A little piece of ice or mineral scale on the sensor eye tricks it into thinking the basket is full.

FIX Unplug the unit. Remove the ice basket. Look inside the empty chamber—you'll see a small, clear plastic lens (the sensor) on one side. Wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth. Also, clear any ice chips or debris from the area around it. Plug it back in and restart.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The sensor itself could be malfunctioning. Try running it with the ice basket completely removed. If it makes ice normally without the basket, the issue is with the sensor's alignment or the basket not sitting perfectly.

HEADS UP Using hard water accelerates scale buildup everywhere, including on that sensor. A quick weekly wipe-down of the interior with a dry cloth helps prevent this.
