DIAGNOSIS Heated Dry on this model uses a heating element at the bottom of the tub to create warm air and a vent to release moisture. If it's not working, the heating element might have failed, or the venting system (a small fan and vent door) is stuck.
FIX First, make sure you're not accidentally turning it off. The 'Heated Dry' button toggles the feature on and off. A light should be on when it's active. Next, check for a simple blockage. The vent is usually inside the door at the top. Look for a small grille and make sure it's not clogged with grease or debris.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The heating element for drying is the same one that heats wash water. If your Sani Rinse also isn't working (see above), that points to a failed heating element. If the wash water still gets hot, then the issue is more likely with the vent mechanism or the control that operates it.
HEADS UP Plastic items will never dry as well as ceramics or glass—they don't retain heat. For better plastic drying, use rinse aid (it makes water sheet off) and try cracking the door open at the end of the cycle to let steam escape naturally, instead of relying solely on the heated dry.
