DIAGNOSIS The single-serve brew head is clogged with mineral scale or coffee grounds. This is the most common cause of slow, weak coffee from the K-Cup side.
FIX First, run a water-only cleaning cycle. Fill the reservoir. Place a large mug on the drip tray. Press 'Clean' once to select the single-serve side. Press 'Clean' a second time to start the cycle. It will run hot water through the system for 5 minutes. After it finishes, manually clean the brew needle. Lift the brew head handle. Use a straightened paperclip to gently clear the exit needle in the center of the brew head.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If flow is still poor, the internal water line or valve specific to the single-serve path is obstructed. You must descale the entire machine. Use a liquid descaling solution like Hamilton Beach's own Descale & Clean Liquid. Run the descale cycle as outlined in the maintenance section of .
HEADS UP Never use vinegar to descale this model. The acetic acid can damage internal seals and plastic components not rated for food-grade acid cleaners. Use only citric acid or manufacturer-approved descalers.
