DIAGNOSIS This is a known quirk. The touch panel can be activated by dust accumulation, static, or accidental brushes. You need to engage the Child Lock function.
FIX With the unit on, press and hold the Timer button for 3 seconds until the lock icon illuminates on the display. All other touch controls (power, fan speed, timer) are now disabled.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If the lock won't engage or the panel is still acting erratic, unplug the unit for 5 minutes to reset the control board. Wipe the touch panel with a dry microfiber cloth to remove any static-attracting dust.
HEADS UP To turn the unit off while the lock is on, you must first unlock it by holding the Timer button again, or simply unplug it.
