DIAGNOSIS This is a thermal protection shutdown. The red blinking light indicates the motor has overheated and the unit has entered a safety lockout.
FIX Immediately turn the power switch off and unplug the vacuum. Let it cool down for at least 60 minutes. While cooling, perform a full blockage check. Empty the dust cup. Check the filters (pre-motor and post-motor). Check all hose connections, the wand, and the floor nozzle for clogs. After the hour, reassemble with clean filters and test.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If the red blinking light recurs immediately on a cool vacuum with clean, clear paths, the thermal fuse or temperature sensor may be faulty. This requires service.
HEADS UP Running the vacuum with a full dust cup, dirty filters, or a partial clog is the primary cause of overheating. The filters require washing every month for normal use.
