Diagnosis
The blender is experiencing a complete power failure, meaning the electrical circuit is broken between the wall outlet and the motor. This is typically caused by a tripped GFCI outlet, a disconnected safety interlock switch, or a blown internal thermal fuse designed to protect the motor from overheating.
How to Fix It
Follow these steps to isolate the power failure:
- Verify the Power Source: Plug a small lamp or phone charger into the same outlet to ensure the socket is live. If you are using a GFCI outlet (one with "Test" and "Reset" buttons), press the Reset button.
- Check the Safety Interlock: The Wave Crusher will not energize unless the jar is perfectly seated. Remove the blender jar, ensure no debris is trapped in the base, and firmly press the jar down until it clicks or locks into place. If the jar is slightly tilted, the safety switch won't trigger.
- Inspect the Power Cord: Examine the entire length of the cable for frays, kinks, or chew marks from pets. Ensure the plug is pushed fully into the wall.
If That Didn't Work
If the outlet is live and the jar is locked, the issue is internal:
- Thermal Fuse Reset: If the blender was used heavily right before it died, the thermal fuse may have tripped. Unplug the unit and let it sit for 30 to 60 minutes to cool down completely before attempting to power on again.
- Component Failure: If it remains dead, the internal thermal fuse has likely blown permanently or the control board has shorted. Testing these components requires opening the base with a multimeter to check for continuity. If the unit is under warranty, contact the manufacturer rather than opening the chassis.

Never attempt to bypass the thermal fuse or bridge the safety interlock switch. These components prevent the motor from catching fire or the blades from spinning while the jar is detached.
