Diagnosis
A foreign object is likely lodged in the drain pump impeller, or the pump itself is failing.
How to Fix It
Disconnect power. Access the drain pump by removing the lower kick plate. The pump is located on the lower front left side. Disconnect the drain hose and electrical connector. Remove the mounting screws to extract the pump. Inspect the impeller chamber for debris like glass, pottery shards, or bone. Clear any obstruction.
If That Didn't Work
With power disconnected, manually spin the pump impeller. It should rotate freely without scraping. If it is stiff, noisy, or has visible damage, the drain pump assembly must be replaced.
Heads Up
Always check the filter and sump area for debris first, as items there can be pulled into the pump during drain.
