trying to set up fax on my epson workforce wf-2860 and it's not picking up, my answering machine grabs it first.

Diagnosis: The "Rings to Answer" setting is incorrect. It must be set to a number higher than your answering machine's answer setting.

Fix: Adjust the setting.

1. Press the Home button.
2. Select Settings > General Settings > Fax Settings > Basic Settings > Rings to Answer.
3. Select a number of rings higher than your answering machine uses.
4. Select OK.

If that didn't work: Ensure your Receive Mode is set to Auto (for automatic reception) and that you ran the Fax Setting Wizard to configure basic settings like your fax number and line type.

Heads Up: The printer can detect fax tones even if the answering machine picks up first. If you answer and hear a fax tone, hang up and check that the printer has started receiving.
