water is leaking from the bottom of my northair ice maker, puddle underneath.

Quick answer: A clogged or misaligned drain tube is the most common cause. Water isn't draining properly from the internal tray.

Diagnosis

A clogged or misaligned drain tube is the most common cause. Water isn't draining properly from the internal tray.

How to Fix It

Unplug and empty the unit. Tilt it to drain remaining water from the reservoir. Check the small silicone drain tube at the back-bottom of the interior—ensure it's not kinked and is securely attached. Use a pipe cleaner or soft brush to clear any debris from the tube.

If That Didn't Work

The internal water pump or a seal might be cracked and leaking. This requires a technician.

Heads Up

Always place the ice maker on a level surface. An uneven tilt can cause water to overflow internally instead of draining correctly.
