The rated drilling capacity for steel is 13 mm (1/2 inch). For best results in metal:
- Use a center punch to make an indentation first.
- Start drilling at that point to prevent the bit from slipping.
- Use a cutting lubricant for all metals except iron and brass, which should be drilled dry.
- Run the drill at an appropriate speed; don't force it.
For machine screws, the fastening capacity is M6 (1/4 inch).
