The heat opens the pores of the plastic, allowing factory residues or the cleaning agent to bond more deeply. How to Fix It
To fully purge the system of chemical residues, you must perform a deep-flush sequence that exceeds the standard "Self-Cleaning" mode. Follow these exact steps:
- Drain the machine completely by pulling the drain plug at the bottom of the unit. Ensure no standing water remains in the reservoir.
- Fill the reservoir to the "MAX" line with distilled water. Using distilled water prevents new mineral buildup while you are flushing out the chemicals.
- Activate the machine and let it run for two full ice-making cycles (approximately 12-15 minutes).
