Reason: These substances can damage the internal filters, coat the sensor, and potentially create a fire hazard. The deodorization filter is designed to trap odors from the air naturally; adding foreign chemicals compromises its function and the unit's safety.
Alternative: If you want a scent, place a diffuser well away from the purifier's air inlet (at least 30-60 cm above it and not directly in front). The purifier will then help clear the scent from the air when you're done.
