How to Fix It
To safely and effectively clean your air fryer basket and pan in the dishwasher, follow these steps:
- Ensure the appliance is off, unplugged from the wall outlet, and has cooled down completely to room temperature.
- Remove the basket from the pan. This allows both parts to cool faster and ensures proper placement in the dishwasher.
- Place both the pan and the basket on the top rack of your dishwasher. The rubber cap (drip cover) on the underside of the pan must remain attached; do not remove it for cleaning.
- Use a standard dishwasher cycle. For best results with baked-on grease, select a cycle with a heated dry or sanitize option.
If That Didn't Work
For persistent, stuck-on residue or if you prefer hand washing:
- Soak the basket and pan in hot water with a few drops of dish soap for 10-15 minutes to loosen grease.
- Clean with a soft, non-abrasive sponge or brush and hot, soapy water. Avoid steel wool or abrasive scouring pads.
- For stubborn, baked-on grease stains, apply a small amount of a liquid degreaser or a paste of baking soda and water, let it sit briefly, then scrub gently and rinse thoroughly.

Never immerse the main air fryer unit, power cord, or plug in water. The dishwasher-safe designation applies only to the removable pan and basket. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or oven cleaners on the non-stick surfaces, as they can cause permanent damage.
