chefman air fryer just shuts off mid-cycle, no error code, and the screen goes blank

DIAGNOSIS This is typically an electrical safety trip, most often caused by a loose power connection at the wall or the unit’s plug overheating slightly.

FIX First, check your power source. 1) Unplug the unit from the wall outlet. 2) Plug a different, high-wattage appliance (like a lamp) into that same outlet and run it. If that appliance also cuts out, the outlet or circuit is the problem. 3) Assuming the outlet is good, inspect the Chefman’s power plug and cord for any damage. 4) Plug the Chefman directly into a wall outlet. Do not use an extension cord or a power strip, especially with other high-power appliances. 5) Try running it again.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The unit might have an internal thermal cutoff that’s overly sensitive. Try running it in a cooler environment, away from other heat sources like an oven or dishwasher, and ensure the rear vents have plenty of clearance (at least 5 inches).

HEADS UP This model pulls a lot of power (around 1700 watts). It needs its own dedicated outlet on a 15-amp circuit. Sharing an outlet with a microwave or toaster oven will almost certainly cause a trip.
