The de-tangling vanes might be overwhelmed, or you're using it on the wrong setting. First, clear the current wrap and adjust the mode.
Fix:
- Clear the brush bar: Unplug the vacuum. Lay it down. Press the button on the back of the cleaner head, push the end cap up 90°, and pull the brush bar out. Remove all hair and thread. Reinstall it firmly and click the cap closed.
- Check the suction slider: For rugs or delicate flooring, slide the control on the cleaner head to the far left. This reduces suction and can lessen hair wrap.
- Use the brush bar button: For deep-pile carpets or delicate rugs, turn the brush bar OFF using the button on the handle. Use suction-only cleaning.
If that didn't work: The brush bar itself isn't washable, but it must be kept clear. Make this a regular maintenance step after heavy use. Also, ensure you're not overfilling the bin, as poor suction can cause debris to tangle more.
Heads up: Some rug materials may fuzz if a rotating brush bar is used. If you see fuzzing, vacuum without the motorized floor tool and consult your flooring manufacturer.
