A loud rattle usually means something is loose inside or there's a major obstruction in the airflow path.
Fix: Turn it off and unplug it immediately. The noise is likely coming from the cleaner head or the bin area.
- Check the cleaner head: Make sure it's clicked securely onto the ball. If it's loose, remove it and reattach it, pushing up until the red button clicks.
- Remove the brush bar: Lay the machine down. Release the brush bar from the cleaner head and check if the bar itself is broken or if a large object (like a Lego) is inside the head cavity. Remove any debris.
- Empty the bin: Press the bin handle button, detach the bin, and empty it. Something large might be rattling around inside.
- Inspect the ball: Recline the machine and remove the outer cover of the ball. Check for loose parts or debris in the cavity.
If that didn't work: A blockage in the wand or hose can sometimes cause strange noises. Detach the wand and hose and look through them for obstructions. Also, ensure both filters are correctly seated and not loose.
Heads up: Never run the machine with a strange noise for more than a few seconds. It can indicate a serious internal obstruction that could damage the motor.
