can i use my dyson ball animal 2 on my hardwood floors without scratching them?

Yes, but you need to adjust two settings correctly to prevent scratches and ensure efficient cleaning.

  1. First, turn OFF the brush bar. Press the brush bar control button on the left side of the handle so it's in the 'out' position. The rotating bristles can damage hard floors.
  2. Second, adjust the suction control slider on the front of the cleaner head. For hard floors, slide it all the way to the RIGHT. This setting is for 'hard floors and ground-in dirt.'
  3. Before you start, always check the underside of the cleaner head to make sure it's clean and free of any grit or debris that could act as an abrasive.

With the brush bar off and the slider to the right, the machine will use suction alone, which is safe and effective for hard floors.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: If you're concerned about fine dust, use the Articulating Hard Floor Tool (if you have it). Its soft nylon bristles are designed for hard floors and can be attached to the wand or hose.

HEADS UP: Never use detergents or polishes to clean the machine itself. If you need to wipe it down, use a damp, lint-free cloth only.
