how do i clean the filters on my dyson v8 absolute? the manual is confusing.

You have two filters to wash: the Pre-filter on top and the Post-filter on the back. It's straightforward if you take it step by step.

FIX: First, remove them.

1. For the Pre-filter: Lift it straight out of the top of the cyclone.
2. For the Post-filter: Twist it anti-clockwise and pull it away from the back of the machine.

Now, wash each one separately under cold, running water. For the Pre-filter, hold the open end under the tap until water runs clear, then run water over the outside. For the Post-filter, wash the inside, rotating it to clean all surfaces. Repeat until water runs clear for both. Shake them firmly to remove excess water.

DRYING IS CRITICAL: Place both filters with their open ends facing up. Let them dry for at least 24 hours in a warm, well-ventilated spot. Do not use a tumble-dryer or place near heat. They must be completely dry before you put them back.

HEADS UP: Your machine could be damaged if used with a damp filter. When refitting the Pre-filter, align the arrow on it with the bin release button before pushing down.
