where is the filter on the dyson ball animal 2 and how often do i wash it?

— asked by Sam

There are two filters. Filter A is in the bin cyclone. Filter B is inside the ball. Wash both at least once a month.

Filter A (Cyclone):

  1. Unplug. Press the button on the bin handle to detach the bin.
  2. Push up the catch on the front of the bin handle and lift out the filter.
  3. Wash with cold water only. Hold the open end under a tap until water runs clear.
  4. Run water over the filter's outside until clear. Squeeze and twist to remove excess water.
  5. Dry for at least 24 hours in a warm, well-ventilated place. Do not use a tumble dryer, microwave, or naked flame.
  6. Reassemble only when completely dry. Drop filter back in, close handle until it clicks, reattach bin.

Filter B (Ball):

  1. Unplug. Lay machine on its side, filter cover facing up.
  2. Turn the lock in the ball's center until the cover releases. Lift cover off.
  3. Twist filter counter-clockwise to release. Lift out.
  4. Wash in cold water with a rotating motion until water runs clear. Tap out excess.
  5. Dry for at least 24 hours as above.
  6. Reassemble when bone-dry. Place filter in ball, twist clockwise until it clicks. Refit cover, turn lock to closed position.

HEADS UP: Using the machine with a damp filter will damage it. Ensure 24-hour minimum drying time.
