dyson ball animal 2 keeps shutting off by itself while i'm vacuuming, is this a known issue?

— asked by Chloe

The machine has an automatic cut-out triggered by a blockage or an overfilled bin. Follow this sequence.

  • Empty the bin immediately if the dirt is at or above the MAX line. Overfilling affects performance.
  • Unplug and check for blockages in this order: the wand, the hose, the cleaner head airway, and the ball's inspection panel.
  • Inspect the filters. Filter A (in the bin handle) and Filter B (in the ball) must be washed monthly and be completely dry before use. A damp filter will cause the machine to cut out.

If that didn't work, the brush bar may be obstructed. Unplug, lay the machine on its back, remove the cleaner head, press the button on its back, and pull the brush bar out to clear any wrapped hair or debris.

Prevention: Empty the bin before it reaches MAX and clear the brush bar regularly.
