DIAGNOSIS ERL is a temperature sensor fault. The control unit is not receiving a readable signal from the internal meat probe. This is almost always a probe connection issue.
FIX 1. Unplug the smoker. 2. Locate the meat probe jack on the control panel. 3. Remove the probe plug, inspect for bent pins or debris, and firmly reinsert it. 4. Plug the smoker back in. The error should clear on startup if the connection is solid.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The meat probe itself may have failed internally. You can operate the smoker without the probe. To clear the error, start the smoker without the meat probe plugged in. Set your cook time and temperature using timer mode.
HEADS UP Never submerge the control panel or the probe plug in water. Clean only the probe wire and tip with a damp cloth. Water in the jack will cause permanent ERL errors.
