DIAGNOSIS This is a low oil pressure or oil level shutdown. The unit's sensor is triggering a protective stop. Error code 1101 specifically indicates low oil pressure.
FIX Immediately check the engine oil level on a level surface. Use the dipstick; the oil must be between the marks. Do not overfill. If the level is correct, the oil may be overly viscous from cold weather. Allow the unit to warm in a sheltered area before attempting another start.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The oil pressure sensor itself may be faulty or have a poor connection. Inspect the wire harness connected to the sensor (near the oil filter). Check for corrosion or a loose plug. A failed sensor requires replacement.
HEADS UP Running the generator on a significant incline can cause the oil pickup to be exposed, triggering a false low oil pressure shutdown. Always operate on a level, stable surface.
