hamilton beach blender jar is stuck and won't come off the base, any tricks?

Unplug the unit. Grip the jar firmly with both hands and twist counterclockwise while applying steady upward pressure. If it's vacuum-sealed, running warm water over the outside of the jar base can help break the seal. Never use tools that could crack the glass.
