Diagnosis
A blender that won't power on typically has a simple electrical or safety interlock issue. The most common causes for your Hamilton Beach Power Elite are a faulty power supply, a loose blender jar that isn't triggering the safety lock, or a tripped thermal fuse from motor overload.
How to Fix It
- Check Basic Power: Ensure the power cord is firmly plugged into the blender's base and a working outlet. Test the outlet with another device.
- Secure the Jar: Remove the blender jar, then reseat it firmly onto the motor base. Align the jar's tabs with the base grooves and rotate it clockwise until it clicks and locks into place. The jar must be perfectly seated for the unit to operate.
- Reset the Blender: Unplug the blender for 2 full minutes. This allows the internal thermal protection circuit, which shuts off the motor if it overheats, to reset. Plug it back in and try again.
If That Didn't Work
Inspect the power cord for any cuts or damage. If the unit still doesn't respond, the issue may be internal, such as a failed thermal fuse, a problem with the jar detection switch inside the base, or a faulty control board. For these internal electrical repairs, contact Hamilton Beach customer support, as disassembling the base voids the warranty and involves safety risks.

Always ensure the blender is completely off and unplugged before handling the jar or blade assembly. Never attempt to bypass the jar-lock safety feature by operating the base without the jar properly attached.
