First, run a brew cycle with a carafe full of clean water and no coffee. This flushes the system.
Wash the carafe, lid, and brew basket with warm, soapy water. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
Wipe the exterior and warming plate with a damp cloth. Ensure all parts are dry before reassembly.
