DIAGNOSIS The matte anti-glare coating on the S36GD is delicate. Using household cleaners, paper towels, or excessive pressure will cause permanent micro-scratches and coating degradation.
FIX Use this method only. One: Power off the monitor and let it cool. Two: Use a clean, soft, lint-free microfiber cloth designed for lenses or screens. Three: Lightly dampen a corner of the cloth with distilled water or a monitor-specific screen cleaner spray applied to the cloth, never directly to the screen. Four: Gently wipe the curved surface in a single direction, following the curve, using minimal pressure. Five: Use a dry section of the cloth to remove any remaining moisture.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK For stubborn spots, use a 1:1 mixture of distilled white vinegar and distilled water on the cloth. Avoid all products containing alcohol, ammonia, acetone, or ethyl alcohol.
HEADS UP Do not use pressurized air cans. They can force dust and debris into the monitor's edge seal and panel gap. Do not attempt to clean with the monitor powered on, as static electricity from the cloth can affect the image temporarily.
